Things don't replace love languages. Gifts, money, showing off, random travel—none of this can be a substitute for deeply understanding your partner's love language.

Practicing a new skill increases the density of your myelin—the white matter in your brain that helps improve performance on a number of tasks. Additionally, learning new skills stimulates neurons in the brain, which forms more neural pathways and allows electrical impulses to travel faster across them.

Real love is figuring out how someone wants to be loved.

A British research study showed that being bored, which occurs when you don't learn new things very often, can be dangerous to your health. People in the study who reported being bored over a long period of time had heart disease rates more than twice as high as those who didn't report boredom.

When we think of an expectation, we see it as something we expect. We expect it to happen because it seems obvious. But really, our expectations are not based on reality; they're a projected reality. They're a belief, they're a hope, they're a want, they're a desire. They're not necessarily based on reality.

We have to learn to vocalize what we're not saying. Sometimes, what we're asking for isn't what we truly want; it's what we're not asking for that we want.

If you walked up to someone, and didn't know what language they spoke, and started speaking to them in English, but they didn't speak English—that's how it feels not to receive love in your love language.

Once you stop learning, you start dying.

Learning to love in the way someone wants to be loved is far more the definition of love than just loving in any way.

When someone leaves us, we end up leaving ourselves because we stop being ourselves. We start judging ourselves harsher. We're like, 'Oh, I'm not beautiful enough. I'm not good looking enough. I'm not funny enough. I'm not supportive enough. I'm not stable enough.' And all that does is it makes you all those things.

What our parents did or didn't give us is what we expect from our partners.

Learning is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never regrets.

And I promise you that you have had happy moments, you have had beautiful moments, even if you feel that you haven't. The mind's good at remembering the tough times and the difficult times and good at forgetting the beauty and the joy.

If you need it, and you're not saying you need it, guess what? No one's going to read your mind. No one's going to figure it out.

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.

It's these expectations of others, it's these obligations of others, it's these opinions of others that hold us back, that stop us from our higher selves, that block us from our greatest potential.

There will be challenges in 2023, but you'll be prepared with the lessons from 2022.

So many of our love languages are based on how our parents loved us or didn't love us.

Don't confuse apathy for simplicity. Being okay isn't being happy; being okay isn't joyful; being okay doesn't build a bond.
